The Palace

History

History

Ledreborg was built in 1740-1745 by Count Johan Ludwig Holstein, the then head of the Danish Chancellery, under Christian VI and the estate has now been in the hands of the Holstein-Ledreborg family for more than 250 years. The palace has a unique collection of furniture and paintings, almost untouched since being founded. Thus today Ledreborg Palace is one of Denmark’s finest examples of the 18th century Danish building and landscape architecture.
